We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a growing residential construction team delivering high-quality housing developments across Harlow and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale housing projects with a reputable contractor focused on quality, safety, and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate setting out for housing and residential infrastructure works
- Interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications
- Use GPS, total stations, and surveying equipment effectively
- Ensure all works are completed to required tolerances and quality standards
- Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and design teams
- Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate records
- Monitor progress and assist with site coordination
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within residential or housing developments
- Strong understanding of groundworks, roads, drainage, and plot works
- Proficient with surveying equipment and AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- CSCS card required
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Experience working with major housebuilders or residential contractors
- SMSTS or First Aid qualification beneficial
