We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer / Construction Manager to join a major water treatment project in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile infrastructure scheme within the UK water sector. The Role As Senior Engineer / Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of construction activities across the project. You will provide both technical engineering leadership and overall site management, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives. Senior Engineer / Construction Manager Responsibilities * Managing the day-to-day construction delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme. * Leading and overseeing all site engineering activities, ensuring accuracy in setting out and construction. * Managing site teams, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to achieve project objectives. * Coordinating construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards and client requirements. * Producing and reviewing QA documentation, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection records and handover documentation. * Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and engineering documentation. * Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation, resolving engineering and construction issues as they arise. * Planning and coordinating temporary works, logistics and construction sequencing. * Monitoring progress against programme, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures. * Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance on site. * Supporting project planning, forecasting and reporting alongside the Project Manager. * Mentoring and developing Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Supervisors. * Building strong relationships with the client, design teams and key project stakeholders. Senior Engineer / Construction Manager Requirements * Proven experience as a Senior Engineer, Construction Manager or Site Manager on civil engineering or water infrastructure projects. * Previous experience delivering water treatment, wastewater treatment or utility infrastructure schemes is highly desirable. * Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete, pipelines, drainage, utilities and associated civil engineering works. * Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors. * Excellent understanding of construction methodology, quality assurance and health & safety legislation. * Competent using Leica, Trimble or similar surveying equipment. * Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills. * Valid CSCS Card (essential). * SMSTS (essential or preferred). * First Aid qualification desirable. * Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
