My client are a leading civil engineering specialist who operate nationwide. They deliver critical infrastructure schemes across the UK including projects within the rail, highway and aviation sector. They are looking to onboard a general foreman for a new contract being delivered in the capital.
General foreman responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations on-site, ensuring work is carried out according to plans and schedules.
- Supervise and coordinate teams of tradespeople, labourers, and sub-foremen.
- Allocate tasks and monitor progress, adjusting resources as needed.
- Assist with short-term and long-term project planning.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to sequence tasks efficiently.
- Monitor and report on project milestones and daily progress.
- Enforce all HSE policies and ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, or unsafe practices.
- Ensure work meets quality standards and engineering specifications.
