We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a highways scheme based in Colchester. This is a 6–7 month contract offering a competitive daily rate, with an immediate or near-immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out for highways works including roads, kerbs, drainage, and earthworks
- Working from drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality
- Checking line, level, and alignment of works on site
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors
- Producing as-built drawings and maintaining site records
- Ensuring all works comply with health & safety and highways standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out skills using GPS / total station
- Ability to read and interpret highways drawings
- Valid CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS / SSSTS (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
