We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a highways scheme based in Colchester. This is a 6–7 month contract offering a competitive daily rate, with an immediate or near-immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting out for highways works including roads, kerbs, drainage, and earthworks
  • Working from drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Checking line, level, and alignment of works on site
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors
  • Producing as-built drawings and maintaining site records
  • Ensuring all works comply with health & safety and highways standards

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects
  • Strong setting out skills using GPS / total station
  • Ability to read and interpret highways drawings
  • Valid CSCS card (essential)
  • SMSTS / SSSTS (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
