Quantity Surveyor in Essex

RTL Group are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor who are looking to bring in an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a multi-year tunnelling scheme. The role can be based from either their Kent or Essex office, with ongoing long-term workload and strong project visibility. This Role caan be freelance, temp to permanent or straight permanent The Role You ll be taking ownership of the commercial function on a major tunnelling project, working closely with the site and project management teams. The position will suit someone who is confident working under NEC contracts and comfortable handling the day-to-day commercial duties on complex civil engineering works. Key Responsibilities * Overseeing the commercial management of a multi-year tunnelling project * Full NEC contract administration, including early warnings, compensation events and issuing notices * Measuring and quantifying tunnelling works, shafts and associated civils packages * Preparing take-offs, BoQs, cost plans and monthly cost/value reports * Managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts * Monitoring budgets, forecasts and cost control throughout the project lifecycle * Supporting regular commercial reviews and reporting to senior management * Building strong working relationships with clients, subcon…
