We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join our team on a major infrastructure project involving extensive earthworks, highways, drainage, and reinforced concrete structures.

Working alongside the Site Agent and Project Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and successful delivery of complex civil engineering works, ensuring quality, programme, and commercial objectives are achieved. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a flagship project within a collaborative and forward thinking delivery team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Site Agent in the planning and delivery of multiple work packages.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations across earthworks, highways, drainage, and structural works.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
  • Coordinate engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor progress against programme and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
  • Review and implement construction methodologies and sequencing.
  • Produce and review RAMS, ITPs, temporary works requirements, and permits.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through inspections, testing, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and reporting.
  • Assist with cost control, forecasting, procurement, and change management.
  • Attend client and subcontractor meetings and contribute to project planning.
  • Mentor and develop Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers.
Experience
  • Previous experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Site Engineer on major civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, highways, drainage, and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
  • Excellent understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site engineering teams.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction programmes.
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting project reporting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Manager Card.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Experience working on National Highways or other major infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts.
