Structures Foreman

We are seeking an experienced Structures Foreman to join our team on a major highways infrastructure project.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality structural works within a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.

About the Role

As a Structures Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating site teams carrying out structural works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with Site Engineers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and the wider project team to ensure programme targets are achieved.

  • Structures Foreman Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day structural works on site, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, reinforced concrete structures, and associated highways infrastructure.
  • Lead and coordinate direct labour and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
  • Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
  • Monitor productivity and progress against the construction programme.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure works are completed correctly.
  • Coordinate plant, materials, and labour requirements.
  • Identify and resolve site issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Complete site records, inspections, and reporting requirements.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Structures Foreman Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Structures Foreman within highways or major civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, bridge construction, formwork, steel fixing, and associated structural works.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and direct site teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering work to programme.

Essential Qualifications

  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • CSCS Gold or Black Card
  • First Aid at Work (preferred)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Temporary Works Supervisor (desirable)
  • National Highways or major infrastructure experience (desirable)
