We are currently recruiting for an experienced Supervisor / Site Manager to join a well-established groundworks subcontractor on a large industrial groundworks package in the Didcot area. Our client is a major industrial and commercial groundworks subcontractor with a strong reputation across Oxfordshire and a substantial pipeline of secured work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supervisor or Site Manager looking for a long-term contract, with an initial project duration of 2 years and genuine opportunities to continue onto future projects.

The Role:

Working closely with the project team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of the groundworks package, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site operations and ensure the project remains on programme throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of a busy industrial groundworks project.
  • Manage subcontractors, operatives and site activities.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
  • Liaise with Site Management, Engineers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate labour, plant and materials to maintain productivity.
  • Oversee a full industrial groundworks package, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete works, RC slabs, ducting, kerbing, hard landscaping and associated external works.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project and resolve any site issues as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Supervisor or Site Manager working for a groundworks subcontractor.
  • Previous experience delivering industrial groundworks projects.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • SMSTS preferred.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Additional relevant qualifications and tickets are advantageous.
