RTL Group are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager/ Site Agent with strong tunnelling experience to join a major infrastructure project on a 12-month contract. This is an Outside IR35 engagement, offering long-term stability on a complex and technically challenging tunnelling scheme.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of tunnelling works, managing site teams, subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Overall management of tunnelling construction activities on site
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, in line with HSEQ requirements
- Managing site teams, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
- Coordinating with design, planning, and commercial teams
- Driving programme performance and resolving construction issues
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Reporting progress, risks, and mitigation measures to senior management
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager on tunnelling or underground infrastructure projects
- Strong background in tunnels, shafts, SCL, TBM, or related underground works
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or major civils projects
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and relevant safety certifications
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Right to work in the UK (or relevant country if based in Europe)
- 12-month contract - Outside IR35
