We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join an M&E contractor delivering building services projects. The successful candidate will manage the technical aspects of electrical packages, covering design coordination, installation support, and delivery through to handover, ensuring works meet specifications, budgets, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand project specifications and Employer's Requirements
- Liaise with client design teams and specialist electrical subcontractors
- Prepare and manage technical submittals
- Issue procurement and tender documentation
- Manage the drawing production and approval process
- Review manufacturer and subcontractor drawings for compliance
- Manage procurement schedules, technical submittals, and RFIs
- Review contract changes and liaise with the commercial team
- Ensure site management teams are working to the latest approved information
- Resolve on-site technical issues in collaboration with the construction team
- Review equipment schedules and carry out relevant calculations
- Collate certification, O&M manuals, and handover documentation
- Appraise returned tenders and produce bid comparison / bid tab sheets
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within M&E or building services
- Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems and standards
- Experience managing technical documentation and design coordination
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and schedules
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and experience liaising with commercial teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Relevant electrical qualification (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
- CSCS card (preferred)
