Commercial Groundworks Project Manager Location: Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire Job Type: Permanent Sector: Groundworks / Civil Engineering / Construction The Opportunity An established groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in Bishop’s Stortford is looking for an experienced Commercial Groundworks Project Manager to join their team. The company delivers commercial groundworks and civil engineering projects across Hertfordshire, Essex and the surrounding areas, and is looking for a Project Manager with strong industry experience who can take ownership of projects from start to finish. The Role You will be responsible for the successful delivery of commercial groundworks projects, managing all aspects of the project from pre-construction through to completion. Key responsibilities include: * Managing commercial groundworks and civil engineering projects from commencement through to completion. * Taking responsibility for programme, quality, health & safety and project delivery. * Managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. * Planning and monitoring project programmes and key milestones. * Managing project costs, valuations and variations. * Coordinating procurement and site resources. * Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors. * Attending project meetings and providing regular progress updates. * Identifying and managing project risks and potential delays. * Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. The Candidate The ideal candidate will have: * Proven experience as a Project Manager within commercial groundworks or civil engineering. * Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, earthworks and associated civils. * Experience managing commercial projects. * Strong understanding of construction programmes and project delivery. * Excellent leadership and communication skills. * Experience managing subcontractors and site teams. * A commercially aware and proactive approach. * SMSTS and relevant CSCS qualifications. * A recognised construction management qualification would be advantageous.
