About RTKFnet

RTKFnet is a leading independent provider of high-precision RTK correction services across the UK and Ireland.

Founded in precision agriculture, we now support customers across agriculture, surveying, construction, drones, rail, marine and other positioning applications.

We own and operate an extensive network of GNSS base stations and manage our service in-house, from network infrastructure and account provisioning through to customer support.

As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and practical RTK Network Operations & Service Lead to lead our technical service function.

The role

This is a senior, hands-on position with responsibility for the technical service team and the reliable delivery of RTKFnet services.

You will line manage members of the technical team, coordinate the day-to-day workload and take ownership of customer support, account setup, equipment configuration and escalated technical issues.

You will set clear priorities and service standards while remaining actively involved in technical delivery.

A key purpose of the role is to centralise support and post-sale setup, enabling our Technical Sales Engineers to spend more time with customers, dealers and new business opportunities.

The role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to customer and infrastructure sites.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day technical service function.
  • Line manage, support and develop members of the technical team.
  • Set priorities, allocate work and maintain clear service standards.
  • Provide technical support to customers and dealers.
  • Take ownership of escalated issues through to resolution.
  • Create and configure RTK accounts, credentials and customer access.
  • Configure and test SIM cards, routers, modems, receivers and associated equipment.
  • Support customer and dealer onboarding.
  • Diagnose NTRIP, mobile connectivity, networking, hardware and configuration issues.
  • Maintain accurate support tickets and technical records.
  • Monitor network issues and coordinate an effective response.
  • Support the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of GNSS base-station infrastructure.
  • Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to prevent repeat issues.
  • Develop clear technical processes and documentation.
  • Report on service performance, recurring issues and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with network/business partners and suppliers as our lead technical contact.

About you

You will be an experienced technical professional who can troubleshoot problems logically, take ownership and provide clear direction to others.

You will need:

  • A strong technical background in RTK, GNSS, precision positioning, telecommunications, connected equipment or a closely related field.
  • Practical experience with some of the technologies that support RTK delivery, including NTRIP, TCP/IP networking, routers, mobile data, SIM management, VPNs or remotely connected hardware.
  • The ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and equipment.
  • A calm and professional approach to customer support.
  • The ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or line managing technical employees, or clear readiness to take on formal line-management responsibility.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to balance immediate support needs with longer-term improvements.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Direct experience with RTK, GNSS, NTRIP or precision-positioning systems would be particularly valuable. Familiarisation with RTKFnet’s specific infrastructure, systems and services will form part of the induction process.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience.
  • Permanent, full-time employment.
  • Company pension.
  • Life assurance.
  • A varied role combining technical leadership, customer service and infrastructure.
  • The opportunity to take meaningful ownership within a growing and developing business.
