Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker with a passion for supporting children, young people and families?
We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate Children in Need Social Worker to join a supportive children's services team, working with families to provide early intervention, assess needs and achieve positive outcomes for children.
The Role
You will work with children and families where additional support is required to promote children's wellbeing, safety and development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of Children in Need cases.
- Completing assessments and reviewing children's needs.
- Developing and reviewing child-centred plans.
- Undertaking statutory visits and direct work with children and families.
- Ensuring the child's wishes, feelings and voice remain central to decision-making.
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers and wider family networks.
- Coordinating support and services to meet identified needs.
- Working closely with schools, health professionals, early help services and other partner agencies.
- Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Attending meetings, reviews and multi-agency discussions.
- Supporting families to make positive and sustainable changes.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports.
About You
We are looking for a Social Worker who:
- Holds a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Is registered with Social Work England.
- Has experience working with children, young people and families.
- Has experience managing Children in Need cases.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and children's social care legislation.
- Has experience completing assessments, statutory visits and care planning.
- Is confident undertaking direct work with children and families.
- Has excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Can work effectively with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Is organised, resilient and able to manage a varied caseload.
- Is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
DfE Requirements
Candidates must meet the relevant Department for Education (DfE) requirements for the role, including the required social work qualification, professional registration and relevant experience.
