Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker with a strong background in child protection and safeguarding?
We are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Child Protection Social Worker to join a children's services team, working to safeguard children and young people and ensure their voices, wishes and feelings remain at the heart of decision-making.
The Role
You will work with children and families where there are concerns around safeguarding, abuse, neglect or other risks to a child's welfare.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of children subject to child protection procedures.
Completing assessments and undertaking statutory visits.
Identifying and assessing safeguarding risks.
Developing, implementing and reviewing child protection plans.
Undertaking direct work with children and young people.
Ensuring the child's voice, wishes and feelings are central to all assessments and plans.
Working closely with parents, carers and wider family networks.
Working collaboratively with schools, police, health professionals and other agencies.
Attending child protection conferences, core groups and multi-agency meetings.
Responding promptly to safeguarding concerns.
Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate case records.
Working within relevant legislation, statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.
About You
We are looking for a Social Worker who:
Holds a recognised Social Work qualification .
Is registered with Social Work England .
Has previous experience working within Child Protection / Children's Social Care .
Has experience managing complex safeguarding cases.
Has a strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory children's services.
Is confident undertaking assessments, statutory visits and direct work with children.
Has excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Can work effectively with families and multi-agency professionals.
Is resilient, organised and able to manage a demanding caseload.
