Job Title: Deputy Home Manager (Children's Residential Care)Location: TottenhamHours: Full-time, 9am – 5pmContract: Permanent

We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Home Manager to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality care for children in a residential setting.

Role Overview:As Deputy Home Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our children's home. You will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure that the home is a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children and young people in our care. You will oversee a team of care staff, support with staff development, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high standards of care and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and operation of the children’s home.
  • Supervise and support a team of care staff, including overseeing rotas, performance management, and staff development.
  • Promote a safe and positive environment that meets the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children in care.
  • Lead by example and support staff in adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and reviews.
  • Work closely with external professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and education providers, to ensure holistic support for children and young people.
  • Manage incidents and crises, ensuring that appropriate interventions and documentation are in place.
  • Ensure the home operates within the required budget and supports the efficient allocation of resources.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in children's residential care, ideally within a supervisory or management role.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to act as a role model in promoting safeguarding practices.
  • The ability to manage complex situations, including dealing with challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
  • A commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for children and young people in your care.
  • A full UK driving license
