We lead the way in scientific analysis, research, consultancy, and training for the food, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods industries, supporting Mondelez International. The Operations Lab Support (OLS) department administers all samples arriving at RSSL, provides laboratory support to all departments, and liaises with internal and external customers.
Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Technical
- Log samples accurately and timely into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Sub‑aliquot samples for internal and external customers following SOPs.
- Perform routine checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
- Manage inventory of samples, reagents, and consumables.
- Handle lab administration, glass washing, and housekeeping duties.
- Oversee disposal and archiving processes.
- Use generic and specific software packages, including LIMS and Q‑Pulse.
- Work across different laboratories and sites as required.
- Communication & Influence
- Identify and implement process improvements within a team.
- Liaise with clients, commercial teams, and line management for effective communication.
- Represent RSSL professionally to internal and external customers, ensuring accurate LIMS information and high customer satisfaction.
- Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEHS)
- Maintain safety and quality standards, including COSHH, risk assessments, and SOP compliance.
- Control client documentation and ensure current versions are supplied.
- Complete quality actions timely.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
- Understand and meet GMP, UKAS, and Home Office regulations, keeping training records accurate.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
