The Trainee Engineer will support site‑based engineering activities while developing technical competence under supervision, in line with the company Competence Framework. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience on a major UK light rail infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setting out, surveys, and site measurements
- Support inspections and quality assurance documentation
- Assist with as‑built records and site documentation
- Learn and apply company engineering standards and safety systems
- Maintain accurate site records and engineering diaries
- Proactively identify and raise hazards, close calls, and near misses
Ideal Candidate
- Educated to HNC, HND, or Degree level in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or working towards)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Positive, safety‑focused attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site team
