We're looking for a dedicated Secretary/Receptionist to join our West Hatch Wildlife Centre team. This isn't just an office job; it's a chance to be at the heart of our operations, helping us rescue, rehabilitate, and release thousands of wild animals every year.
Working hours: 15 hours a week working every Saturday & Sunday
It's important to us that you feel part of our team from the start. We like to keep in touch with regular check-ins and team meetings. There's always a teammate around for support or a quick chat.
Here at RSPCA no two days are the same, as a Secretary/Receptionist we’ve added a short summary of what a typical day might look like:
- Receive callers/deliveries to the Centre, and deal with telephone enquiries.
- Admit and triage wildlife casualties.
- Type up documents and correspondence, including clinical records and reports.
- Maintain Centre records on our computer database to enable accurate and timely responses to requests for statistical information.
- Deal with incoming/outgoing post, distributing to the relevant member of staff, including collating application forms and sending thank you letters for donations.
- Participate in and support fundraising events to generate income and public awareness.
Requirements:
- Previous secretarial/office experience.
- Some experience with cash handling/balancing is essential.
- Experience working in a customer service environment.
- Computer Literate.
- Good communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Wildlife knowledge and/or animal handling is desirable but not essential as you will receive training.
Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK - We are unable to sponsor visas at RSPCA.
