We are looking for a new team member as Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive (CE).

  • 6 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of going permanent.
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week; Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid role: This is a hybrid role, so you will work from home and from the London and Horsham offices. Travel to the offices is essential, as you will be required to be present during key leadership meetings.

Are you a highly experienced and confident Executive Assistant seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity?

We are looking for a proactive and exceptional individual to provide comprehensive support to our Chief Executive (CE) and contribute to the effective functioning of our Board of Trustees.

This 6 month fixed term contract offers the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

This role is far more than just diary management. You will be a key point of contact for the CE, managing their busy schedule, preparing briefings, handling confidential information, and ensuring they are fully informed and prepared for all engagements.

You will also support the Chair and Board of Trustees, contributing to the smooth operation of board meetings. Excellent communication skills, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs are essential.

As our EA to the CE you will:

  • Provide comprehensive and confidential executive assistance to the CE.
  • Support the Chair and Board of Trustees.
  • Manage the CE’s complex diary, prioritising conflicting demands and optimising their time.
  • Proactively manage the CE’s high volume email inbox.
  • Prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports, including drafting responses for the CE’s approval.
  • Liaise with Internal Communications on issues and events involving the CE.
  • Arrange national and international travel, including booking tickets and accommodation.
  • Plan and organise regional site visits.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, compile supporting papers, and take accurate minutes.
  • Support the Executive Leadership Team in organising special events.
  • Manage expenses, invoices, and purchase orders (up to delegated authority).
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Act as a first point of contact for colleagues, trustees, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and communicate relevant external issues to the CE.
  • Provide peer-to-peer EA cover as needed.

To be successful in this rewarding position of EA to the CE, the post holder must already have experience of working within an EA position for a CE or Director, and must also be able to demonstrate a passion for animal welfare.

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
