At RSPCA Solent Branch, we make a real difference to animal welfare in southern Hampshire. We are an independent Branch of the RSPCA, who are affiliated with the national body, but not funded by them. Our Animal Centre (The Ark) based in Fareham, has a well‑equipped vet clinic where we practice shelter medicine to a high standard. We rehome as many of the animals that come through our doors as possible, whether they are pets, farm animals or exotics.

We’re looking for a new Veterinary Surgeon to work alongside our friendly, highly experienced Senior Vet and Practice manager. The role is part‑time, 24 hours per week, mainly Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Currently, there are no weekends, no evenings nor any OOH shifts, however we would like to consider offering an occasional weekend welfare day to members of the public in the future.

We are ideally looking for someone with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience, who has some previous experience in charity or shelter medicine settings. The salary is £30 per hour (£37,440 pa), plus CPD allowance.
