We are the RSPCA and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. Our volunteers are incredible, they play an essential role in helping us carry out our important animal welfare work every day. Much of our direct animal welfare work is carried out through our branches. These separately registered charities across England and Wales are run by volunteers who are unstinting in their work for animal welfare. This volunteer opportunity is provided by RSPCA Woodside, which is a separate registered charity to the RSPCA National Society and based in Leicester (LE3 1UQ).
Our volunteer receptionists play a key role in welcoming visitors and callers to our branch and acting as a liaison with staff and volunteers. Alongside this, they enable us to tackle all those extra jobs that often get overlooked due to time pressures which all goes towards improving animal welfare. We are looking for friendly volunteers who can help the visitors and answer the calls we receive at our animal clinic. This is an important role that enables us to help more animals in need of medical attention and treatment.
What you will be doing
- Welcoming visitors and callers acting as a liaison with staff and other volunteers.
- Carrying out administrative tasks such as updating and adding details to our computer system.
- Taking payments using our card machine.
- Promoting our work of the animal.
