We are the RSPCA and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. Our volunteers play an essential role in helping us carry out our important animal welfare work every day. Many of the dogs in our care have never experienced life in a loving, family home. Our volunteer kennels assistants play a vital role in giving dogs all the care they need whilst they wait for someone to give them a forever home.
What you will be doing:
- Preparing and providing food and water for the dogs in the kennels as directed
- Cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining kennels to the required standards
- Attending to the exercise and coat care/grooming needs of the dogs
- Following health and safety procedures
- Liaising with colleagues
The skills you need:

- Knowledge of dogs and ability to read their behaviour
- Must feel comfortable around dogs and have a patient and understanding nature
- Able to carry out physical tasks
- Able to work within a team but also capable of working with minimal supervision
