Part Time Seasonal Centre Assistant

Two positions are available:

Usual working days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday working 15 hours per week. Minimum contract length 8 weeks commencing August 2025.

Usual working days Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday working 20 hours per week. Minimum contract length 8 weeks commencing August 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy visitor centre at one of Norfolk\’s most amazing nature reserves. This is a fixed term (minimum 8 weeks), part-time position for a Centre Assistant at RSPB Titchwell Marsh.

You will mainly be based in our new cafe but may also be required to work in our shop, with opportunities for additional hours.

The main focus of the role is to serve customers food and drink and ensure they have the best experience possible. You will help maintain the cafe appearance and stock levels, process deliveries, operate the till, and respond to visitor enquiries in a friendly and professional manner.

• Customer service: Taking orders, providing recommendations, and handling customer complaints
• Food and drink preparation in a busy commercial kitchen: Making coffee, tea, and other hot and cold drinks, as well as hot and cold pastries, sandwiches, and other snacks
• Stock management: Checking stock levels, replenishing items, and rotating stock
• Cleaning: Cleaning the cafe, including floors, equipment, and tables
• Cash handling: Operating the till, taking payments, and counting the cash taken
• Health and safety: Following hygiene and health and safety regulations, and ensuring food is stored and cooked safely
• Work well in a team
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to follow instructions

The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make these roles permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
