Lead Hospitality in One of Wales' Most Spectacular Locations.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead our catering operation at the stunning RSPB South Stack Nature Reserve.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Anglesey's rugged coastline, South Stack welcomes thousands of visitors each year who come to experience incredible wildlife, breath taking scenery, and excellent customer service.

As Food & Beverage Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our café delivers a welcoming, high-quality experience while supporting the RSPB's mission to protect nature.

About the role and what you will be doing

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the visitor centre café.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a team of paid staff and volunteers.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times.
  • Driving sales, profitability, and commercial performance.
  • Managing stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and compliance.
  • Monitoring financial performance and managing budgets effectively.
  • Working with the wider reserve team to enhance the visitor experience and support events and activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a food and beverage management role.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Sound commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and performance targets.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding visitor experiences.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Demonstrates relevant knowledge and capability through a recognised qualification, relevant training, and/or equivalent practical experience.
  • Applies food hygiene principles and practices effectively, supported by a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or the ability to obtain this within an agreed timeframe.
  • Uses financial information accurately to support decision-making, budget management and operational performance.
  • Produces and analyses information effectively using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Maintains food safety and health and safety compliance through the effective application of food safety management systems and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Leads and supports individuals and teams to deliver high-quality outcomes and achieve agreed performance standards.
  • Applies visual merchandising, display and presentation techniques to create an attractive and engaging customer environment.
  • Plans and allocates people, products and other resources effectively to meet operational requirements.
  • Organises and prioritises tasks and activities to meet competing deadlines and business needs.
  • Delivers brand standards, operating systems and procedures consistently and in line with organisational requirements.
  • Applies stock management processes and operational controls effectively to maintain accuracy, availability and compliance.
  • Creates a positive and inclusive team environment by supporting, developing and motivating others to perform at their best.
  • Responds appropriately to customer and colleague feedback and adapts approaches to meet their needs effectively.
  • Identifies issues, evaluates options and implements practical solutions to resolve problems and support continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply leadership and operational management skills within a food and beverage, hospitality, or comparable customer-focused environment, gained through relevant experience.
  • Delivers agreed objectives, targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) through effective planning, monitoring and performance management.
  • Creates and maintains a high-quality F&B customer experience by delivering services that meet customer needs and organisational standards.
  • Supports the development and performance of individuals and teams through coaching, feedback, knowledge sharing and creating opportunities for learning and growth.

This is a Permanent role for 37.5 hours per week.
