The predicted salary is between 27000 - 31000 £ per year.

Salary: £27,000 – £31,000 per annum (FTE, dependent on experience). Actual part-time pay for 25 hours/week will be pro‑rated to £16,875 – £19,375.

Hours: Permanent, Part time 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day

Reporting to the HR Assistant / Officer and with their guidance and line management, the Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinator plays a key role in delivering a smooth, efficient, and positive experience for candidates and new starters. This role supports the full recruitment cycle - from advertising vacancies and scheduling interviews to preparing contracts and coordinating onboarding activities and managing the probation period. The R&O Coordinator will ensure all associated processes run effectively, and in line with company policies.

  • Recruitment Administration
    • Review, update and get authorisation, as appropriate, each vacancy job description and associated terms and conditions of employment.
    • Post job adverts across relevant platforms and ensure they remain up to date.
    • Screen applications and shortlist candidates against agreed criteria.
    • Coordinate interviews, assessments when needed, with interviewers and hiring manager availability.
    • Communicate with candidates throughout the process, ensuring timely updates.
    • Prepare offer letters, contracts, and pre‑employment documentation for the HR Advisor / Officer authorisation.
    • Conduct right‑to‑work checks and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
    • Maintain accurate recruitment data and reporting within the HR system.
  • Onboarding, Induction & Probation
    • Coordinate pre‑boarding activities, both internal and external, including welcome communications and new starter paperwork.
    • Set up new starter profiles, IT access requests, and equipment orders including laptop and mobile phone.
    • Prepare induction schedules and liaise with managers to ensure readiness for their sessions.
    • Deliver or support induction sessions as required.
    • Track completion of mandatory training and probation reviews.
    • Ensure new starters have a positive, well‑organised introduction to the organisation.
  • Process & Compliance
    • Maintain recruitment and onboarding documentation, templates, and process guides.
    • Ensure all recruitment and onboarding activities comply with GDPR and employment law.
    • Support continuous improvement of processes to enhance efficiency and candidate experience.
  • Stakeholder Support & Communication
    • Build strong working relationships with hiring managers, the HR Officer, and external partners i.e recruitment agencies.
    • Provide guidance on recruitment processes and best practice.
    • Respond to general HR queries related to recruitment and onboarding.
  • HR Department
    • Operate as an integral part of the HR team, supporting colleagues as and when required to deliver tasks to the business.
    • Take responsibility and lead, for recruitment and onboarding associated projects.

Qualification, Skill and Attributes Required

  • Essential
    • Experience in recruitment administration and recruiting, HR coordination, or a similar operational role.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skill.
    • Strong team player work ethic and attitude.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
    • Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable
    • CIPD qualified.
    • Experience supporting onboarding or induction processes.
    • Knowledge of UK employment law and right‑to‑work requirements.
    • Experience in a fast‑paced environment, ideally construction or engineering.
    • Driving licence.
