Location: Unit 1 High Barns Farm, Bedford Road, Roxton, Bedfordshire, MK44 3ET

Salary: £38-42k per annum plus benefits

Position duration: Permanent, full time. 7am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday, 50 hours per week

Job Summary: The Trainer/Tester is responsible for delivering industry-leading training and assessments that ensure participants gain practical skills and technical knowledge to operate equipment safely and competently. This role involves training development, adapting delivery styles to candidate needs, conducting assessments, and supporting the RSP-UK’s training centre's wider remit, including operational support, exhibitions, and brand promotion.

Standard Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Training Delivery
    • Deliver engaging, practical training sessions using approved materials and methodologies.
    • Ensure candidates understand the material and feel confident operating the relevant equipment.
    • Adapt content and teaching style to suit different learning levels and preferences.
    • Provide clear joining instructions and ensure refreshments and lunch are arranged for training days.
    • Uphold and exceed safety, compliance, and audit-readiness standards.
  • Assessment
    • Conduct on-site and remote candidate assessments to ensure competence.
    • Record outcomes accurately and ensure all supporting evidence is filed appropriately.
    • Provide constructive feedback to learners and report to the Training Manager/Coordinator.
  • Support & Continuous Improvement
    • Assist in the development of new training content, formats, and delivery methods.
    • Maintain training equipment and readiness of training areas.
    • Support demonstration activities at exhibitions and customer events.
    • Work with Marketing to contribute to training-related social media content.
    • Support the wider Operations department as needed.
    • Support the Training Manager and Training Co-ordinator as needed.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Ideally hold an IQA qualification.
  • Experience in operating a suction excavator (suitable training can be offered for right candidate).
  • Be familiar with the following: Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR Regulations 2018.
  • Ideally hold an HGV class 2 license.
  • Utilities and plant experience desirable.

  • To be able to deal with customer requests and react quickly while still following process when short notice is given.
  • Pro-active and can work on own initiative. Able to follow instructions and work to deadlines, quick to learn and able to retain knowledge.
  • Competent in the use of the Windows package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a good standard of English.
  • Be able to communicate confidently and effectively with people at all levels.
  • To be a team player with a positive outlook and a professional image.
  • Flexibility in approach with the ability to adapt from task to task.
  • To be reliable and able to understand the importance of being punctual and impact of absence.
  • Commitment and loyalty to the business.
  • To be able to operate in line with confidentiality requirements associated with the role.
