Electrical Engineer (Edin)

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under a project leader and be responsible for the electrical services design development in accordance with project objectives.
  • Work competently on an independent basis or as part of a wider team and be responsible for reporting to senior staff.
  • Communicate directly with clients and other design team members, including attendance at meetings.
  • Undertake the preparation on calculations and comprehensive design associated with M&E Building installations.
  • Manage your own workload and support a team of technicians to suit project deadlines and requirements.
  • Prepare concept and preliminary engineering solutions for design.
  • Prepare technical reports, documents and specifications.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other design team members.
  • Be actively involved in compliance with RSP Business Management Systems.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with electrical services design on a varying range of projects.
  • Good and confident communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry design software (i. e. NBS, Bentley Hevacomp, Amtech, Dialux or similar).
  • Auto CAD and Revit Experience.

Requirements

  • Preferably working towards being or Degree qualified and working towards IET/CIBSE membership.
  • 5 years + relevant experience.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to do overtime, when and if required.
  • Must be prepared to travel within the UK. This may involve early morning starts, late finishes and occasionally overnight stays.
