Make an Impact at RSM UK. We are looking for a Manager to join our Consulting Technical team. The role focuses on compliance within the consulting solutions (including Deal Services, Risk and Governance, Finance Function Support, Business Transformation, Forensic, and Restructuring) and on ongoing review, maintenance and updating of documentation and processes. You will support the wider technical team in dealing with queries and case‑related issues. In this role, you will be advising the wider Consulting technical team on all statutory requirements and addressing legislative changes. You will promote a clear understanding of compliance requirements and support best standards of compliance across the business.
Our new colleague will ideally be a qualified solicitor with previous experience in corporate and commercial law focusing on contractual or service agreement work. This will require an individual with very good quality technical, analytical, and report‑writing abilities as well as strong interpersonal skills.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Ensuring technical queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Reviewing engagement documents for compliance.
- Negotiating amendments to the firm’s standard documents or third‑party documents.
- Ensuring documentation complies with firm’s risk policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting and supporting the Consulting core team and providing training and support to colleagues within the team.
- Producing relevant technical updates for consulting teams.
- Supporting the Consulting teams through their engagement processes ensuring compliance with necessary regulatory requirements.
- Understanding the challenges and developing solutions to regulatory issues alongside the technical team and other Consulting colleagues.
- Attending and contributing to technical team meetings.
- Working through ongoing projects in Consulting and related areas.
- Implementing and communicating changes to policies and systems.
- Providing guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
- Supporting the development of the team.
- Reporting to Line Manager, Head of Department or Head of Compliance on issues that require escalation.
- Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the Line Manager or Head of Department.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in advising on corporate transactions including ideally supply and service agreements.
- Experience of providing legal advice and/or ability to analyse legal issues in context.
- Experience building and managing stakeholder relationships both with internal colleagues and external clients.
- Experience negotiating with external third parties.
- Experience of producing updates and training is desirable.
- Excellent drafting skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Commitment to high quality delivery within agreed timeframes.
- Flexible approach.
- Strong organisational and time management skills essential.
