We work with owner managed businesses, private equity backed enterprises and global companies, managing their tax affairs both on the compliance side and in relation to additional advisory matters.
Our transactions tax specialists provide a variety of services, such as tax due diligence reviews (buy-side and sell-side), advice relating to private equity and similar structures, vendor assistance, and management tax planning. As a result of consistent growth, increased client demand and high-profile M&A Tax appointments, we are looking to add to our national transactions tax team at the Associate Director level.
As part of RSM's national M&A tax specialists, you will work closely with a regional transactions tax partner and contribute significantly to the development and success of our transactions tax services. You will have high levels of responsibility and the opportunity to manage diverse and challenging projects across various industries. Operating closely with our corporate finance department and utilizing RSM's international network, you will be at the forefront of Transactions Tax advisory work.
The primary office for this role can be flexible, with a preference for Birmingham.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Managing a variety of M&A tax projects.
- Providing tax structuring advice before and after transactions to deliver tax-efficient solutions for clients.
- Writing technical descriptions of client projects for reports.
- Supporting strategic targeting and business development, especially in private equity, in collaboration with the Transactions Tax Partner.
- Being a strong people manager, actively participating in training and career development through coaching, formal training, and performance discussions.
- Researching and preparing proposals for new work and participating in presentations to prospective clients.

- Is CTA or ATII qualified, or holds an equivalent qualification, ideally with an accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
- Has significant experience at Manager, Senior Manager, or Associate Director level.
- Has excellent knowledge of Transactions Tax, either in a specialist capacity or as a Corporate Tax professional.
- Has proven client handling and project management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Has business development experience or interest.
- Is committed to an inclusive approach to team development, providing opportunities and managing performance actively and supportively.
