Make an Impact within our Innovation Reliefs team at RSM UK. Our National Innovations Relief Team works with a range of companies, from start-ups to multinationals, to assist them in preparing claims for Research & Development tax relief. We serve clients across sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software, and digital technologies, helping them identify and successfully claim tax relief. The variety of projects and our impressive client list will challenge you daily, fostering your professional growth.
As an Associate Director within the Innovation Reliefs Software team, you will be part of a growing, specialist tax team at RSM. Your role involves working directly with IT specialists across various businesses at the forefront of technology, within a global professional services environment. This position can be based in any of our Central or Scotland region offices (Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Edinburgh, or Glasgow).
You will:
- Develop claim methodologies and manage the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
- Lead interviews with clients' technical and finance teams to advise on R&D tax relief and assist in identifying qualifying activities and expenditures.
- Write technical descriptions of client projects for reports.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities, including pitching for new and existing clients.
- Serve as a point of contact on specific R&D software projects.
- Utilize your computer science or developer skills to mentor junior team members.
