Controls Assurance Associate Director ISAE & AAF
We are searching for an experienced Controls Assurance Associate Director ISAE & AAF.
Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM’s current and future clients within the middle market. Our Consulting team plays a major role in driving the firm’s growth, with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.
Our six solutions include: business transformation, deal services, finance function support, risk and governance, forensic and investigation services, and restructuring. These solutions help our clients achieve their strategic goals and empower our team members to develop their careers.
Role overview
Lead and undertake complex internal controls engagements, including US SOX, ICoFR, and Service Auditor reporting under ISAE3402 and AAF standards. Manage controls documentation and testing at client sites, ensuring adherence to RSM methodologies and standards. Lead a team and deliver high-quality internal controls assignments within deadlines and budgets. Collaborate with leadership to grow the internal controls client base and team.
Key responsibilities
- Build relationships with stakeholders across RSM, the risk & governance line, and clients.
- Manage internal controls assignments, including planning, execution, reporting, and liaising with clients.
- Understand risks and controls within each assignment.
- Draft planning documents for approval.
- Participate in delivery of complex engagements.
- Oversee process flow and controls documentation.
- Review significant findings.
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of assignments.
- Prepare high-standard reports and working papers.
- Supervise and motivate junior staff, providing training and guidance.
- Assess team performance and provide feedback.
- Contribute to RSM’s appraisal and development processes.
- Identify additional work opportunities and support market activities.
- Assist in proposal development for RFPs.
- Comply with RSM policies.
- Perform other duties as required.
Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of internal controls standards (AAF, ISAE, SOX), documentation, testing, and sector issues.
- Experience with SOX implementation.
- Experience delivering ISAE and AAF controls assurance engagements.
- Experience with large global organizations.
