We are seeking an experienced Director – Risk & Governance (Control Advisory) to play a key role in growing our Risk & Governance practice. This is a strategic hire focused on building and delivering a market‑leading control advisory offering, supporting our ambition to significantly expand our advisory footprint across corporate clients, including FTSE 350 organisations. This role will sit within the Risk & Governance team and work closely with Business Transformation, Technology, and SOX specialists to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Delivery
- Lead advisory engagements focused on control environment design, optimisation, and implementation
- Support clients in meeting regulatory requirements, including Corporate Governance Code obligations (e.g. Provision 29)
- Advise on GRC tool selection and implementation, leveraging relationships with leading providers
- Contribute to ERP implementations (e.g. SAP S/4HANA) from a controls and governance perspective
- Provide expertise in SOX control design and support assurance activities where required
- Deliver both large‑scale transformation programmes and targeted advisory engagements
- Business Development
- Drive growth in the corporate and FTSE 350 market, supporting expansion of the firm’s assurance and advisory footprint
- Leverage existing client relationships and networks to generate new business opportunities
- Develop and position control advisory services for: Large listed organisations, AIM‑listed and private companies, Businesses preparing for IPO or carve‑outs
- Collaborate with international teams (notably US and Europe) to deliver global client engagements
- Collaboration & Integration
- Act as a bridge between Risk & Governance and Business Transformation teams
- Risk Advisory (framework design and implementation)

Skills & Experience Required
- Essential
- Extensive experience in risk, governance, and control advisory within a consulting environment
- Strong expertise in: Internal control frameworks (SOX and non‑SOX), GRC tooling and digital governance solutions, ERP systems (e.g. SAP S/4HANA) from a controls perspective
- Proven track record in leading complex client engagements
- Demonstrated ability in business development and revenue generation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Desirable
- Experience working across multiple sectors (e.g. Life Sciences, Energy, Financial Services, Public Sector)
- Established network with clients and GRC technology providers
