Make an Impact at RSM UK

There has never been a more exciting time to join RSM UK’s digitally led Forensic practice. As this area continues to grow, we are looking for an Associate Director to help lead, develop and deliver complex financial crime advisory engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients, while supporting the continued expansion of our ambitious team.

Our Financial Crime Advisory team helps organisations assess, strengthen and transform their financial crime frameworks, systems and controls, combining technical expertise, commercial insight and practical, risk-based advice to help clients respond to regulatory and financial crime challenges. This role offers the opportunity to lead engagements across areas including anti-money laundering, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, working closely with senior client stakeholders, compliance and risk leaders, boards and executive management.

As an Associate Director in our Financial Crime Advisory team, you will take overall responsibility for managing a portfolio of engagements from inception through to delivery, building trusted client relationships, delivering high-quality outputs and supporting the development of junior team members. You will also play a key role in proposition development, business development and market engagement, helping shape our financial crime advisory offering and contributing to the future growth of this expanding area of the practice.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Leading a portfolio of financial crime advisory engagements, including framework reviews, risk assessments, policy, governance, training, management information, control enhancements and change or remediation programmes.
  • Planning, managing and delivering engagements from start to finish: defining scope and approach, managing quality, risk, budgets, resources and stakeholder expectations, and overseeing overall engagement performance.
  • Providing practical, risk-based advice on anti-money laundering, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, translating regulatory and technical requirements into proportionate client solutions.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and wider financial crime, compliance, risk and regulatory networks, acting as a recognised adviser and strengthening RSM’s market profile.
  • Driving business development through proposals, tenders, networking and identifying opportunities to grow financial crime advisory services, while leading, coaching and developing junior colleagues.

What we are looking for:

You will be an experienced financial crime advisory professional with a strong track record of leading complex client engagements, delivering high-quality service and building trusted relationships. Whether your background is in professional services, a regulator, law enforcement or an in-house financial crime or compliance function, you will bring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to deliver practical solutions with confidence.

Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Significant experience in financial crime prevention or advisory work, including anti-money laundering, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the regulatory environment, with experience delivering framework reviews, designing and implementing risk and control frameworks and supporting change or remediation programmes.
  • Experience working across sectors such as banking, insurance, asset or wealth management, payments or crypto, with the ability to tailor advice to different client environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills, with the ability to review complex information, exercise sound judgement and produce clear, high-quality reports and recommendations.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, developing junior colleagues and identifying business development opportunities.

What we can offer you:

We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That’s why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.

  • 27 days holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days).
  • Lifestyle, health, and wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP.
  • Access to a suite of 300+ courses on demand developed by our in-house talent development team.
