We are looking for an Accounting and Financial Reporting Associate Director (Senior Manager level) to work within our ‘Accounting and Financial Reporting’ team in our Birmingham office. You will manage and lead as a trusted advisor on a portfolio of clients ranging from statutory compliance, agreed upon procedures, client secondments and accounting support, for large and medium companies. Acting for clients across a range of sectors including retail, media and technology, travel, manufacturing and PE backed entities we are looking for someone who is also passionate about developing business with new clients and has experience of coaching and developing teams.

You\’ll make an impact by:

  • Leading the delivery of a portfolio of clients, always providing a premium service, whilst taking an active role in the growth of the department through the identification of opportunities and associated business development activities.
  • Having a strong awareness of IFRS, FRS102, FRS101 and Companies Act reporting requirements.
  • Managing the working capital of projects, including budgeting, cost management, billing and debt recoverability.
  • Having a key focus on business development, working with the Partner Group on business plans and participating in targeting and lead generation.
  • Managing relevant AFR teams’ performance, ensuring appropriate objectives set and development plans in place for junior members.

  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Industry or commercial finance experience would be welcomed.
  • Business development experience.
  • Experience of manging a portfolio of client work within a professional practice.
  • Strong technical skills, with knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102 and Companies Act reporting.
  • Proven ability to quickly build rapport with client principals and colleagues.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
