Risk and Governance Placement – Reading – September 2026. This placement is for students on a sandwich degree who want to explore consulting as a career. The start date is 15 September 2026 and is mandatory due to internal training. This is a 12-month placement with RSM Consulting, offering exposure to how businesses work, change, grow and succeed, and potential progression to a graduate programme.

What you’ll do

You’ll support projects that matter and learn how to think critically, listen carefully and contribute meaningfully in the following solution. In Risk and Governance, you’ll help clients stay resilient by identifying, managing and mitigating risk, supporting governance reviews and assurance projects, and delivering data‑driven, bespoke insights with high‑quality execution. You’ll gain exposure to clients and key intermediaries, developing a solution‑focused approach to drive success for clients and the firm.

You’ll also:

Who we’re looking for / Qualifications

This placement is ideal for students on a sandwich degree who want to explore consulting. You don’t need a business background—just a curious mind, a collaborative spirit and the drive to get stuck in. You’ll need:

  • A predicted honours degree
  • Enrollment on a placement degree
  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points from 3 A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications
  • OR 104 UCAS points across 4 Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level)

We don’t accept General Studies, AS levels or EPQs.

You might be:

  • Detail-oriented but able to see the big picture
  • Curious about business and its role in the world
  • Excited — and maybe a little nervous — about stepping into a new world

There is a mandatory start date of 15 September 2026 due to internal and professional training.
