This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board. As one of the world's largest networks of audit, tax and consulting firms, RSM delivers big ideas and premium service to help middle-market businesses thrive. We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions – we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision touches everything we do, motivating and inspiring us to become better every day. If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you.
Make an Impact within our Fund Tax team at RSM UK. Our Funds Tax team is a fast-growing and ambitious practice, offering significant opportunities for progression and development. We work with a broad range of investment funds, fund managers and related vehicles across private equity, venture capital and other alternative asset classes. The team supports clients on both complex tax reporting and advisory matters throughout the fund lifecycle. Typically, we become the ‘house advisor’ looking after every aspect of the structure whether that is partnership tax at the fund level, corporation tax within the group or personal tax for the executives and carry holders. That wide tax technical remit means that we work closely with colleagues across corporate tax, private client services, international tax, VAT, transfer pricing and transaction services alongside close relationships with the audit and consulting practices to provide a fully integrated service to asset managers and their funds.
As an Associate Director within the Funds Tax team, you will take the lead role looking after a portfolio of investment manager structures with responsibility for the service delivery, the relationship, the commercial arrangements and leading the service team. We will ask you to deepen the client relationships, have broad open conversations with clients, look for business development opportunities and provide clients with exceptional advisory and reporting service experiences.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Actively developing existing client relationships demonstrating deep commercial understanding for those clients.
- Leading advisory and technical projects, including fund formation, restructuring and planning around fund lifecycle events.
- Collaborating with partners to help develop new business and build on existing relationships.
- Playing an active role in developing, coaching and mentoring the junior members of the team.
- Building relationships with all other departments, including corporate tax, private client services, international tax, VAT, transfer pricing, transaction services, as well as audit and consulting, to ensure all potential client needs are identified and serviced.
- Briefing junior staff on the client’s business and the pre-assignment instructions; supervising and controlling the completion of work; and undertaking ‘on the job’ training where necessary.
What we are looking for:
We value diverse experiences and perspectives and are looking for an ambitious, career-driven individual who is ready to take on new challenges and develop their expertise in a growing specialist area. Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning new things, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies in everyday life and are passionate about making improvements, this role is perfect for you.
Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
- CTA and/or ACA qualified, or suitably qualified-by-experience.
- Strong understanding and practical experience of tax issues relating to a range of fund clients.
- Proven experience in client handling and project management.
- Ability to lead advisory projects resulting in high quality reports within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing a portfolio of fund tax reporting and advisory projects, whilst being confident at developing and maintaining relationships internally and externally.
- An interest in mentoring and developing junior members of staff.
What we can offer you:
We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That’s why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.
- 27 Days Holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days).
- Hybrid working Lifestyle, Health, and Wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP.
- Individual healthcare cover.
- Access to a suite of 300+ courses on demand developed by our in-house Talent Development team.
- Clear progression pathways within a growing specialist team.
- Opportunities to work with leading mid-market fund managers and investment funds.
