Director - Project Management - Global VAT Compliance & Reporting (GVCR) in Milton Keynes

Key Responsibilities:

• Own commercial performance across client accounts, including budgeting, profitability, utilisation, forecasting, and recovery management.
• Act as a conduit between our department and other business units within RSM, enhancing collaboration and joint opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring consistently high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing project management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and career development.
• Support business growth initiatives by contributing to proposals, client pitches, service development, and strategic transformation projects.
• Drive consistency and governance across project delivery methodologies, reporting frameworks, KPIs, and service quality standards.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement, including the adoption of technology‑enabled solutions, automation, and evolving e‑invoicing and digital reporting requirements.

What we are looking for:

• Significant Project Management experience (10+ years).
• Experience of working within the professional services sector.
• Business agility related certifications are preferred but not essential.
• Exposure to accounting principles and/or VAT Compliance and systems is not essential but useful.
• Line management experience.

• Organised: Effective time management and prioritisation, deadline driven.
• Proactive: Uses own initiative to identify work and potential issues, self‑motivated to resolve and suggest improvements.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with an ability to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to tailor approach depending on individual and context.
• Working knowledge of Excel is essential.
• Team focus: Ability to work closely and collaborate with peers to achieve common goals.
• Flexibility and adaptability to deliver upon changing priorities and requirements.
