As an Associate Director within the Private Client Tax team, specialising in Partnerships Tax in London, you will take a strategic and commercial approach to managing and developing client relationships and leading exciting and varied advisory projects. You will ensure a high-quality service to a range of clients whilst managing a team, reviewing work, providing training and development in conjunction with our Talent Development Team, and maintaining a positive and inclusive culture in line with RSM values. You will work with partners and colleagues on planning projects and technical assignments and be involved in business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Actively maintain existing client relationships, acting as the first contact for potential and new clients; generate and convert work with the support of Directors and Partners.
  • Lead advisory and technical projects.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop new business within the team and build on existing relationships.
  • Play an active role in developing junior members of the team.
  • Build relationships with other departments to ensure all potential client needs are identified and serviced.
  • Brief junior staff on the client’s business and pre-assignment instructions; supervise and control completion of work; and provide on-the-job training when necessary.

Ideal Candidate

  • CTA and/or ACA qualified, or suitably qualified by experience.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of tax issues for private clients.
  • Proven experience in client handling and project management.
  • Ability to lead advisory projects delivering high-quality reports within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of personal tax compliance and advisory projects while maintaining relationships internally and externally.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing junior staff.
