We are searching for an experienced Finance Transformation Manager.

At RSM, our consulting team brings together diverse advisory experts to deliver our six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance. Whether it’s supporting global expansion, developing acquisition strategies, facilitating private equity investments, or collaborating with boards to manage risk and governance, our consulting experts work as one cohesive team. We prioritise simplicity, providing data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to empower our clients in building sustainable, future-fit businesses.

It’s an exciting time to join our consulting team, as we embark on ambitious growth plans that promise to create diverse career opportunities. We are committed to enhancing our six solutions, expanding and developing our team of expert consultants, embracing a digital-first approach, strengthening our global presence, and building strong client relationships.

Our Business Transformation team is designed to help businesses transform by improving their operations and supporting them to overcome performance challenges that lead to lasting growth and adaptability (across strategy, technology, finance, innovation, and people). We are guided by good practice principles and the latest technologies, but never constrained by them. The Finance Transformation team sits within our growing Business Transformation Consulting practice and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join us.

Over the last few years, we have seen a change in the work that traditional back-office functions, like Finance, deliver and how it is delivered. CFOs face increasing complexity and an ever-changing business environment. They are tasked with driving enterprise performance, participating in strategic direction and growth, whilst also running an effective and efficient finance function. This has accelerated how Finance operates and resulted in the need for Finance to become more agile, streamlined, and efficient, enabling the delivery of more accurate, reliable, and insightful financial information.

Here at RSM, we partner with CFOs to design and implement future-ready Finance operating models. We take the time to understand our clients’ business, their vision, and needs. We evaluate and deploy pragmatic solutions that elevate their teams, enhance their effectiveness, and enable them to better serve their businesses while modernising their digital footprint.

You will make an impact by:

  • Working closely with clients and establishing trust and credibility quickly to build effective relationships.
  • Being a problem solver, creative thinker, and self-starter, who is organised, proactive, and inquisitive.
  • Contributing to client proposals and presentations and being seen as a trusted advisor to work closely with clients in identifying, analysing, and solving their business challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT etc).
  • Management & PQE experience with an established portfolio of work experience, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Strong academic record: preferably with a relevant or business-focused degree (such as finance, accounting, business management or data analytics).
  • Proven experience in finance transformation projects, including process redesign, system implementation and/or operating model development.
  • Experience in designing and implementing Finance Target Operating Models, including organisational design, service delivery models and/or governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and what ‘good looks like’ (e.g. across financial planning & analysis (FP&A), record-to-report (R2R), procure-to-pay (P2P), and order-to-cash (O2C)).
  • Able to lead engagements, planning and facilitating workshops to confirm objectives and requirements, identifying process gaps, and analysing the impact and proposing solutions to address these.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional project teams, manage stakeholders, and drive change in complex environments.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a strong track record of delivering transformation initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Must be a team player, able to work in virtual teams and independently.
  • Proactive, organised, and self-motivated.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate and operate in line with RSM’s core values of excellence, teamwork, integrity, respect, and stewardship.
  • Experience of managing a team and coaching more junior team members.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with (or knowledge of or interest in) ERP platforms and other technology solutions.
  • Experience of proposal writing and business development.
  • Exposure to different methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Waterfall, SCRUM etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with different finance technology platforms (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Blackline and/or Anaplan).
  • Knowledge of change management principles and techniques, including stakeholder engagement and communication planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.

We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That’s why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have a fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.

  • Hybrid working.
  • 27 Days Holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days).
  • Lifestyle, Health, and Wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP.
  • Access to a suite of 300+ courses on demand developed by our in-house Talent Development team.
