Here at RSK Biocensus , part of RSK Group , an award-winning CIEEM company, we are recruiting a tenacious and passionate Senior Ecologist to join our growing UK ecology team.

You can expect to be involved in delivering field surveys, assessments, tender and report writing, and project management on various nationwide and local projects. You will also oversee aspects of site work and undertake practical habitat management or creation under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and oversee medium to large projects and tenders from start to finish.
  2. Promote a commitment to high-quality work, representing RSK positively to clients and competitors.
  3. Manage project finances, resources, subcontractors, risk, quality assurance, ensure timely delivery, and communicate effectively, including seeking and responding to client feedback.
  4. Conduct fieldwork, including out-of-hours surveys, travel as required, and work away from home.
  5. Assist in delivering survey and research reports, including document review, statistical analysis, licensing, and reporting.

A full UK driving license and own vehicle are required.

Person Specification:

You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing clear and concise reports, are essential. Leadership skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are also important.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Ecology or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Species-specific personal licenses are desirable.
  • Associate membership with CIEEM.
  • Adherence to CIEEM’s Code of Professional Conduct.
