This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exciting mix of site and office work, and environmental contracting and consultancy projects.
RSK RAW offers multi-disciplinary environmental protection and risk reduction services to a wide range of industries and clients across the UK, and are specialists in the provision of spill response, contamination investigation and remediation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and delivering rapid response to environmental incidents in a variety of urban and rural settings;
- Pro-active assessment of pollution risks to the environment and the application of a variety of techniques for containing and recovering oils or other contaminants of concern;
- Maintaining accurate site notes, and excellent time management, organisational and communication skills at all times;
- Undertaking Phase I and Phase II site investigations;
- Carrying out desk-based research;
- Preparing site plans;
- Organising, undertaking, and supervising site works;
- Procuring and managing subcontractors for allocated projects, ensuring control of financial and health and safety matters;
- Preparing factual and interpretative reports;
- Preparing Health and Safety documentation, including method statements, risk assessments and site records;
- Adherence to RSK Raw management systems, including site specific and point of work health & safety risk assessments and method statements;
- Financial control of allocated projects including project driven invoicing, issuing of purchase orders, and chasing payment on outstanding and overdue invoices;
- Accountable for management and performance of projects and continued delivery of a high quality service, providing clear, commercially focused solutions;
- Pro-active client management, maintaining good communication throughout the lifecycle of a project, being aware of the client’s needs and providing regular progress reports and confirming any variances as they arise;
- To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company\’s evolving needs, you may be asked to perform additional tasks that may be reasonably expected within your level of capability without additional remuneration.
Additional information:
- We operate a 24/7 spill response service for our clients. As such, you may be required to work out of normal operating hours, for which you will be compensated.
- Although the role is regionally focussed, there may sometimes be a need for travel and staying away from home to cover the needs of the business throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.
- There are opportunities available for collaborative working with other businesses within the RSK Group.
Qualifications/Experience:
- At least 3 years’ relevant industry experience;
- A degree level qualification in a science / environment / land related subject;
- Associate membership of a professional body (desirable);
- Flexible attitude to work;
- Enthusiasm and drive to deliver the requirements of this role;
- The ability to work as an effective member of a team and on your own initiative;
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills;
- CSCS card;
- Full UK / EC driving licence (essential).
