The Keegans Group is seeking an Associate Fire Risk Assessor to join the Compliance and Safety Team.
This is a full-time, permanent position . While there is a preference for candidates based in London , applications from nationwide are welcome.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Fire Safety Risk Assessments at client properties, ensuring compliance with current guidance and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, along with any recent fire risk advice notes.
- Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through self-learning and attending relevant courses to stay updated on fire safety risk assessment standards.
- Adhere to the BAFE SP205 QA System requirements, as outlined in the Keegans SP2-5 Quality Manual and Procedures.
- Plan, manage, and complete site surveys and reports in accordance with Keegans\’ QA system.
- Review and sign off on all Keegans Fire Safety Risk Assessment reports.
- Maintain the Quality Management System and procedures related to fire safety projects across the division.
- Prepare fee proposals and contribute to tender document and bid preparations.
- Prepare and issue monthly client invoices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Level 3 Award in Fire Risk Assessment.
- Registered Assessor on a recognized national register.
- Extensive experience conducting FRAs across various residential property types, including low and high-rise buildings, sheltered accommodation, and ideally commercial properties and schools.
- Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards.
- Technical expertise and practical application skills.
- Effective time and diary management skills.
- Ability to make informed commercial decisions regarding costs and quantities.
- Ability to influence, coach, and mentor colleagues.
- Proven technical report writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
- Having an accredited engineering or surveying degree is desirable.
