Associate Fire Risk Assessor

The Keegans Group is seeking an Associate Fire Risk Assessor to join the Compliance and Safety Team.

This is a full-time, permanent position . While there is a preference for candidates based in London , applications from nationwide are welcome.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Fire Safety Risk Assessments at client properties, ensuring compliance with current guidance and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, along with any recent fire risk advice notes.
2. Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through self-learning and attending relevant courses to stay updated on fire safety risk assessment standards.
3. Adhere to the BAFE SP205 QA System requirements, as outlined in the Keegans SP2-5 Quality Manual and Procedures.
4. Plan, manage, and complete site surveys and reports in accordance with Keegans\’ QA system.
5. Review and sign off on all Keegans Fire Safety Risk Assessment reports.
6. Maintain the Quality Management System and procedures related to fire safety projects across the division.
7. Prepare fee proposals and contribute to tender document and bid preparations.
8. Prepare and issue monthly client invoices.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Minimum Level 3 Award in Fire Risk Assessment.
2. Registered Assessor on a recognized national register.
3. Extensive experience conducting FRAs across various residential property types, including low and high-rise buildings, sheltered accommodation, and ideally commercial properties and schools.
4. Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards.
5. Technical expertise and practical application skills.
6. Effective time and diary management skills.
7. Ability to make informed commercial decisions regarding costs and quantities.
8. Ability to influence, coach, and mentor colleagues.
9. Proven technical report writing skills.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
11. Having an accredited engineering or surveying degree is desirable.
