Job Summary:

We are currently seeking to fill the position of a Project Resident Engineer Civil for a regional-based role in Co. Galway with the preferred candidate having at least 15 years of experience in a similar role. The project involves the construction of a water storage reservoir at an existing water treatment site in Galway. The role will require the on-site supervision of Civil & MEICA works, which are to be delivered.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaison and management of the other members of the Resident Engineer Team.
• Reporting to the Employers Representative.
• Deal with contractual matters on-site related to the works.
• Coordinating Contract interfaces with respect to the works.
• Liaison with Stakeholders.
• Assessment of Contractor claims and writing reports on same.
• Assessment of Contractor payment applications against work completed.
• Assessment of Contractor performance against Contractual KPIs.
• Assessment of Contractor submissions including method statements and preparation of clear comments.
• Review Contractor design submissions against Employers requirements and preparation of clear comments.
• Supervision of works, keeping records, measuring, managing correspondence, and contractual documentation.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Key Requirements:

• Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification in Engineering.
• Have a satisfactory knowledge of civil engineering works, building construction, and project management.
• Have at least 15 years satisfactory post graduate experience, of which at least 10 years, was in on-site supervision, contract administration and project management of civil engineering works.
• Have experience in the construction of water/wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, deep excavations, marine outfalls, civil structures, or similar works.
• Be capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping work records.
• Be proficient in the use of computers in relation to document handling and production of reports.
• Hold a Full Clean Driving Licence.
• Have a satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts.
• Attention to detail and the ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems are essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication skills, coordination, and organizational skills.
