Job Summary:
We are currently seeking to fill the position of a Project Resident Engineer Civil for a regional-based role in Co. Galway with the preferred candidate having at least 15 years of experience in a similar role. The project involves the construction of a water storage reservoir at an existing water treatment site in Galway. The role will require the on-site supervision of Civil & MEICA works, which are to be delivered.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaison and management of the other members of the Resident Engineer Team.
- Reporting to the Employers Representative.
- Deal with contractual matters on-site related to the works.
- Coordinating Contract interfaces with respect to the works.
- Liaison with Stakeholders.
- Assessment of Contractor claims and writing reports on same.
- Assessment of Contractor payment applications against work completed.
- Assessment of Contractor performance against Contractual KPIs.
- Assessment of Contractor submissions including method statements and preparation of clear comments.
- Review Contractor design submissions against Employers requirements and preparation of clear comments.
- Supervision of works, keeping records, measuring, managing correspondence, and contractual documentation.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification in Engineering.
- Have a satisfactory knowledge of civil engineering works, building construction, and project management.
- Have at least 15 years satisfactory post graduate experience, of which at least 10 years, was in on-site supervision, contract administration and project management of civil engineering works.
- Have experience in the construction of water/wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, deep excavations, marine outfalls, civil structures, or similar works.
- Be capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping work records.
- Be proficient in the use of computers in relation to document handling and production of reports.
- Hold a Full Clean Driving Licence.
- Have a satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts.
- Attention to detail and the ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication skills, coordination, and organizational skills.
