Accountable to the Senior Leadership Team, this role is to effectively manage and deliver multi-disciplinary projects to our clients, throughout the UK and globally. Projects span a range of sectors, including but not limited to, Rail, Highways, Clean Energy, Water, Mining, Waste, Utilities, Environmental, Property and Construction.

Responsibilities

  • Create project schedules and plans (tasks, timelines, milestones, dependencies) and delegate tasks effectively to team members.
  • Ensure construction plans, specifications, scope, price of works, RAMS and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement.
  • Manage the delivery of the project, including rigorous scope control and change management.
  • Maintain the company's reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with the client, other framework partners and suppliers.
  • Meet with the operational teams on a regular basis to review the company's operational performance, management and compliance.
  • Manage commercial aspects of a project, submit applications, manage project costs, etc.
  • Monitor project performance and compliance – promptly resolve commercial / technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and client requirements.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the project life‑cycle.
  • Ensure all project files are maintained to provide a fully auditable administrative trail in line with ISO accreditation.
  • Control project records such as reports, permits, inspections and SHEQ documentation.
  • Attend client meetings, project updates, etc. and ascertain and programme work bank.
  • Act as primary contact for technical and operational matters to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Deliver company sales and undertake business development.
  • Manage and motivate junior project and operational staff, upskilling and mentoring to ensure consistency in the delivery of projects to our clients.
  • Adhere to all RSK company policies and client policies and procedures when on site.

  • The role is based out of our Wakefield and/or Normanton Offices, and includes some flexibility to work from home, once competent in role. We are offering the role on a full‑time, permanent basis.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified, ideally BEng / BSc in Civil / Ground Engineering, Construction Management, Earth Sciences or similar.
  • Demonstrable and varied experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge and experience working in some of the following sectors – Rail, Highways, Clean Energy, Water, Mining, Waste, Utilities, Environmental, Property and Construction.
  • Experience in the supervision and management of pre‑construction contracts.
  • Experience in compliance with CDM regulations and production of H&S documentation.
  • The post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses such as PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, towing licence, CAT, First Aid and manual handling training.
  • Experienced in problem‑solving with strong analytical skills to identify and address issues that may arise during project implementation.
  • CSCS Card (Supervisory / Manager level).
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or similar.
  • Ability to work in high‑pressure environments and manage urgent/complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Competent in project change management.
  • Ability to provide professional guidance & task management to junior team members.
  • Seasoned business acumen and commercial skills with ability to promote project services to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passionate, strong initiative, self‑driven with commitment to succeed, decisive with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Ability to manage customer satisfaction, commitment, and expectations to high service levels and manage escalations adequately.
  • Commitment to safety and improving ways of working.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of at least Microsoft packages and ideally Primavera P6.
  • Unrestricted work rights in the United Kingdom.
