Responsibilities

  • Producing, collating, and organising detailed technical design drawings for tender and construction issue.
  • Preparing, writing, and managing building specifications using NBS (Chorus) software.
  • Designing robust technical details, not just drafting them.
  • Delivering complete technical design packages suitable for tender and construction stages.
  • Providing technical design and product specification expertise across all RIBA work stages, from feasibility through to completion.
  • Developing and managing BIM Level 2‑compliant models using Autodesk Revit.
  • Undertaking BIM management and coordination activities where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations, British Standards, and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Actively participating in design critique and contributing to design development discussions.
  • Leading projects where required, including coordination of internal and external design teams.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior and less technically experienced team members.
  • Presenting technical and design information clearly to clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Engaging confidently in client liaison, meetings, and networking situations.
  • Coordinating design information with consultants and contractors.
  • Participating in site‑stage activities for both Traditional and Design & Build projects.
  • Supporting sustainable design objectives, including BREEAM requirements and The London Plan.
  • Maintaining a high level of organisation and quality control across project deliverables.
  • Demonstrating innovation and problem‑solving in technical and design challenges.
  • Upholding company values of respect, accountability, partnership, innovation, and professional development.
  • Undertaking required training, professional development, and compliance processes (including enhanced DBS certification).

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology and a professional qualification (ACIAT / MCIAT) or ARB Registered Architect.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience post professional qualification.
  • Exemplary detailing and overall technical design skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current building regulations and appropriate British Standards.
  • Excellent REVIT and Auto CAD proficiency.
  • First‑hand experience of working to BIM Level 2 Compliance.
  • Experience in writing NBS Specifications (using NBS Chorus Software).
  • Strong design presentation skills in both 2D/3D.
  • A keen interest in sustainable design techniques and knowledge of BREEAM and The London Plan.
  • Hold or undertake an enhanced DBS Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a BIM Management / Coordination role (desirable).
