  • Mechanical Site Supervisor based in

South East, UK (Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire) . This is a full time, permanent position.

The role is to supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works on site, ensuring delivery is in line with project programme, technical specifications, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision
  • Oversee day-to-day mechanical installation activities (HVAC, pipework, public health systems, BMS, thermal insulation)
  • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and method statements
  • Coordinate site activities with other trades and disciplines
  • Attend daily briefings with main contractor and other sub-contractors
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce site H&S requirements in line with CDM Regulations
  • Carry out daily briefings/toolbox talks
  • Compile RAMS using online platform
  • Ensure RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) are in place, updated and followed using online platform
  • Monitor PPE compliance and safe systems of work
  • Report and manage incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviours
  • Quality Assurance
  • Inspect mechanical installations for compliance with design and standards (e. g. CIBSE, , BESA)
  • Maintain quality records and inspection checklists using Procore online platform or to main contractors preferred platform. (Fieldview, Dalux)
  • Identify and rectify defects/snags – using Procore online platform
  • Ensure all installations meet commissioning and handover requirements
  • Programme & Progress Management
  • Monitor progress against programme
  • Report delays, risks, and constraints to the Project Manager
  • Assist with short-term planning and lookahead schedules
  • Ensure labour and materials are available to meet programme targets
  • Coordination & Communication

  • Manage technical queries and assist with RFI’s
  • Materials & Plant Management
  • Carryout general material “take off’s” and manage quotes to pass on to buyer
  • Check deliveries and ensure materials comply with specifications
  • Manage storage, handling, and protection of equipment
  • Coordinate plant and access requirements
  • Documentation & Handover

  • O&M manual compilation

  • Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in mechanical building services supervision

• Strong knowledge of

  • HVAC systems (AHU’s, FCU’s, ductwork)
  • Pipework systems (LTHW, CHW, domestic water)
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe working practices
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Problem solver / can do attitude (site coordination & technical issues)
  • Able to mark out builders works holes
  • Proficient in Microsoft
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
  • CSCS Supervisor or Skilled card
  • Full UK Drivers licence
  • Level 3 Qualification within the plumbing and heating OR pipefitting industry

Desirable

  • First Aid at Work (training can be given)
  • Experience on commercial/public sector projects (e. g. depots, healthcare, education)
