The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Managing fieldwork activities including supervising drilling and excavation works, and undertaking gas and groundwater monitoring, low-flow groundwater sampling and surface water sampling.

Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) and intrusive site investigations for environmental and/or geotechnical purposes in line with national standards and codes of practice.

Supporting the project manager in planning new projects including liaising with subcontractors and suppliers and preparing health, safety, environment and quality (SHEQ) documentation.

Scheduling soil, rock and water samples for chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.

Writing factual and interpretative reports.

Supporting tender managers in preparing fee proposals.

Qualifications:

  • BSc degree level qualified in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related subject essential.
  • Up to 3 years previous relevant work experience.
  • Willing to spend a significant amount of their working day out on site and away from home.
  • Rock core logging capabilities is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise workload.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office applications in particular Word and Excel.
  • Proactive approach to professional development with current (or aspiring) membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
