The company now has an exciting opportunity for a Senior / Principal Hydrologist to join the team in one of our new Dublin or Cork offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical leadership and guidance within the Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Land, Soils and Geology Team.
- Preparing technical reports to support environmental impact assessments, environmental licensing and compliance monitoring.
- Preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments (minimum Stage 1 and Stage II but including Stage III also).
- Designing, developing and Coordinating Environmental Sampling & Monitoring programmes.
- Implementing Field based works associated with projects, which might include; surface water and groundwater monitoring, arranging and supervision of trial pitting, drilling and geophysical surveys, peat probing and gouge coring surveys.
- Providing mentoring guidance and recruitment advice to the Hydrology Team and Operations Director.
- Providing expert witness testimony if required at Oral Hearings or in High Court Judicial Review Proceedings
- Maintaining and developing technical capability through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Administrative duties including recording of time, invoicing, health and safety and developing and updating templates.
- Managing responses to request for tenders and develop proposals.
Person Specification:
- Minimum of honours degree in relevant discipline e.g., Environmental / Civil Engineering, Geoscience or equivalent.
- A minimum of 4+ years’ (Senior Consultant) or 8+ years’ (Principal Consultant) experience in a relevant position.
- Experience with Flood Risk Assessment Software
- Ideally chartered with a relevant professional body or be willing to work towards chartership.
- Post-graduate / MSc degree an advantage but not essential.
- A good understanding of environmental guidance and legislation.
- Significant experience in the provision of environmental services at a senior level with good analytical skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Experience of working on renewable energy projects an advantage but not essential.
- Good business development outlook and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and external bodies.
- Full clean driving licence.
