Are you ready to lead groundbreaking work in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and contribute to the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future? RSK Group is searching for a Senior or Principal Environmental Manager with a construction-based background to spearhead a flagship CCS project in North Wales —a critical part of our national renewable energy transformation strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role at the forefront of sustainable innovation and help shape a cleaner, greener UK.
The Role:
We’re looking for a driven professional with a construction or infrastructure background who is:
- Comfortable being on-site weekly, managing dynamic project environments.
- Managing and building successful client and stakeholder relationships.
- Capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across sectors.
- Eager to develop project management expertise, with support to upskill rapidly in this area.
Geographic Scope:
You’ll be based in the North West, covering a project patch that includes Lancashire, Cheshire, Flintshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire , and West Yorkshire . While you won’t be working across all these regions at once, these are potential locations for future projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carbon Capture Leadership: Take the reins on a major CCS project in North Wales—driving technical delivery, compliance, and innovation in one of the UK’s most exciting low-carbon initiatives.
- Renewables Transformation: Contribute to a portfolio of renewable and sustainable energy projects across the UK.
- Client Management: Maintain and develop strong client relationships, ensuring RSK is the trusted partner of choice.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure delivery excellence.
- Tender & Proposal Oversight: Lead strategic bids and tenders, working across business units to secure future opportunities.
What You Bring:
- Chartered (or working toward chartered) status with robust experience in environmental or infrastructure consultancy.
- Solid technical foundation in environmental policy, legislation, and SHEQ practices.
- Confidence in project and financial management with a track record of profitability and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
