Due to the success and growth of our Environment and Planning Department based in Dublin, our portfolio of projects has increased significantly. We now wish to capitalise on this success and build on our ambition by expanding our Environmental and Planning Team. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant with at least 5 years post graduate consultancy/public sector experience to join our Environmental and Planning Team to play an integral role in the continued success and growth of the company. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to join a well-established and reputable engineering and environmental consultancy, in a friendly, dynamic, and flexible working environment, and to further advance their career. The successful applicant will report to Senior Management within the Department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting and managing the environmental assessment process for a strategic energy infrastructure project, reporting to the project’s Environmental Lead and working with the wider team to produce high quality outputs within tight deadlines.
- Preparation of the EIA Scoping Report.
- Coordination and management of subconsultants and sub-contractors contributing to the environmental assessments.
- Attendance at internal progress meetings, client meetings and coordination meetings.
- Review of baseline data and reporting.
- Coordination and preparation of the EIA Report.
- Provision of technical input throughout the project development to client and to the internal project management team.
- Contribution to preparation of application documentation.
- Engagement with the client and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- A postgraduate degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related discipline.
- Professional membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ISEP, CIEEM, CIWEM) is desirable.
- Experience in working on EIA for large infrastructure projects in the terrestrial and marine environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the areas of Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment.
- Excellent organisational and coordinating skills.
- Strong collaborative working skills.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent ability to interrogate data from various sources to ensure it is fit for purpose.
- Excellent knowledge of European and Irish environmental legislation and regulations.

- Have a proven ability to coordinate and manage teams effectively and efficiently under pressure.
- Have a flexible approach with a willingness to actively participate as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
